"Nottinghamshire is a leading tourism destination with a world-class reputation for its legends, local traditions, culture, sport and heritage. We have a long-standing and positive relationship with Southbank Nottingham City.
Prior to coronavirus, Southbank City would typically run over 100 live music and entertainment events per year, many of which are promoted via the Visit Nottinghamshire website and social media channels. Their packed events calendar ordinarily includes a huge variety of events, including live music performances from national touring acts alongside local bands and DJs; ‘An evening with…’ style talks and Q+A sessions with special guests from the world of sports, screen and stage; seasonal themed music and dance parties at Halloween, Christmas etc; comedy evenings and much more. They also regularly participate in schemes and festivals such as Nottingham Craft Beer Week and the Family Arts Festival.
Southbank City makes a valuable contribution to Nottingham’s arts, culture and tourism scene. The considerable number of events which feature local acts means that the venue provides a platform for up-and-coming talent, and even the interior includes wall art by some of Nottingham’s finest graffiti and street artists - firmly embedding this venue into the local culture of the city. The huge variety of events that they offer (the live music alone features diverse genres from rock to soul to disco) helps the venue to appeal to a wide range of people, and its highly central location – just off Old Market Square in the heart of the city – makes it a popular destination for tourists in particular."

"Nottingham has an excellent entertainments scene, offering a hugely varied programme of music, culture and sports events across its many venues. The Southbank Bar is one of Nottingham City Centre’s prominent venues and, in a typical year, hosts over 100 live music gigs and events.
From Hip-Hop to Jazz, Alternative Rock and Indie to evenings with sporting legends, The Southbank Bar offers a diverse selection of entertainment, covering a wide range of ages and interests. Venues like The Southbank Bar are vital, both to support the local economy and to encourage visitors from outside the City which, in turn, will help to sustain other hospitality and arts institutions across Nottingham."
