The 1998 Club is the all new underground VIP venue beneath Southbank City in Friar Lane just off Old Market Square – purpose built to offer a full VIP hospitality experience – the same quality audio and visual set up as the main bar, but in an exclusive and comfortable setting.
All bookings for major sporting events in The 1998 Club come with food as standard – think corporate hospitality but with restaurant quality food. The menu changes with each event but is expertly created by our head chef and his team.
The 1998 Club pays homage to the original Southbank Bar on Trent Bridge which opened in 1998. Many of the original memorabilia that hung on the walls at the old venue such as the 3 Metre Canvas of Stuart Pearce & Brian Clough, plus many more that have been in storage for 15 years or so, can now be found gracing the venue to give it that classic feel. There is also some quality shots of Nottingham taken by local photographer Tracey Whitefoot on display as well.
Tables are bookable in advance with entrance fees including food from the premium restaurant menu as standard as well as of course full table service for the evening. Most of the group stage games of Euro 2021 are fully booked by those already in the know, but remaining tables can be booked by clicking here.
The 1998 Club is not only the best place to watch major sporting events, it is also perfect for private functions, parties, meetings/training days or “just because” – fully air conditioned with 6 large 4K screens, A+ Audio visual and the ability to play your own music – it is set to become to ‘go to’ place right smack bang in Nottingham City Centre for all occasions. Whatver the means of your booking, we can cater for it – get in touch by clicking here.
